American Airways stated the non-public data of shoppers and staff was compromised by hackers roughly two months in the past.
The breach solely impacted “a really small quantity” of shoppers and airline staff. Information that was accessed by the hackers was in worker e-mail accounts.
Prospects who had been affected by the breach had been notified on Friday, the provider stated in a press release.
The world’s largest airline advised prospects that data within the compromised electronic mail accounts might have included their date of delivery, driver’s license, and passport numbers in addition to medical data offered to the airline.
“American Airways is conscious of a phishing marketing campaign that led to the unauthorized entry to a restricted variety of staff member mailboxes,” American spokesman Curtis Blessing stated. “A really small variety of prospects and staff’ private data was contained in these electronic mail accounts.”
